TARGET->Cheap CD-ROM Drives for Media Centers?

I have noticed a number of inexpensive double-speed CD-ROM drives offered by
the big mail-order wholesalers recently.  Brand names include Power User,
Vivid Vision, and Performantz.  (You may have seen others.)  All are in the
$190-$200 price range.  If you have experience with such drives and could
comment on their suitability for use in schools, please post directly to me.
