I'm looking for others (individuals, districts, states) who may have or are in the process of developing scoring guides (aka rubrics) for elementary library media skills and or concepts. I would also be interested in hearing about other forms of alternative assessments that may be in use in elementary centers? The door has finally been opened in my intermediate school to do away with the traditional schedule and to facilitate true integration (and teaming) between media center and the classrooms. Much of what we do will be based on 11 outcomes as defined by the state. A need exists, however, to take a closer look at some of the skills traditionally associated with the media center... At my primary school, the schedule has been tossed altogether and all research activities have been integrated into a project (and concept) based curriculum. Thanks for any info or thoughts. j -- Joni Rathbun, Media Specialist and Instructional Facilitator Lincoln County School District - The Orygun Coast jrathbun@ednet1.osl.or.gov *** If you need a vacation, you should *** jrathbun@efn.org *** see the state I'm in ***
