I was a senior in high school the day Kennedy was shot. I remember well
being in geometry class and the teacher crying and telling us. Our
school flag had blown down to half mast at noon that day, and they had
just fixed it back up, when they announced the death and had to lower it
again. I remember being fixed to the television for the next few days
and just feeling like our nation would never recover. I was not a fan of
Kennedy politically, but we all in Alabama (my home state) could not
believe this could happen.
