The majority of people responding to my question about a digital camera
recommended the Apple Quick Take 100.  The price quoted to me from Apple
was around $685.00 which included 3 batteries and recharging kit and all
necessary cables.  A carrying case is available for $67.00.

One librarian found that while the color photographs were very good, the
black and white ones turned out very grainy.  This could be a problem in
sending out newsletters or notices.  The camera is very easy to use -- take
the pictures and download them directly into the computer.  The batteries
can be connected so that when the first one runs down, the second one takes
over and so on until all three batteries are used up.  The camera is light
and easy to carry.  I would recommend ordering the carrying case for this
purpose.
