As an interesting aside to this discussion, the AASL session titled
"Alt.Sex.Wanted - The dark side of the Internet" dealt with this issue to
a degree. One school reported that DESPITE A STUDENT/PARENT SIGNED
AGREEMENT a student sent threatening e-mail to President Clinton from his
school e-mail account. The Secret Service didn't take it as a joke and
appeared at the school the next day. Alas, the parent supported the
student's right to "free speech." So you see, these agreements are worth
exactly the value of the paper they are printed on.
