A summary of the replies to my request for information about getting a
book published follows, but first of all, a big THANK-YOU for the replies.
The magazine, Writers Digest, lists publishers by genre.
Writers Market lists children's book publishers and their genre.
Two places to call for info are:
    Raintree Steck-Vaughn 1-800-531-5015
    Raspbery Publishing 1-800-759-7171
Your public library should have the Literary Marketplace Annual.
Jean Stangl has a new book out called How to Get Your Teaching Ideas
Published, Walker, 1994.
In general, most publishers require a query letter first.
Think twice about hiring a literary agent before you get published.
