Needy schools

My Nat. Honor Society sponsor dimly remembers seeing a show on eith 60
min or 20/20 on impoverished schools in (she thinks) Alabama and/or
Virginia.  She would like the NHS to sponsor one of these schools as this
year's activity.  Does anyone know of any such program or any details --
of course, it was wanted yesterday.  Thanks in advance -- please reply to
