Ellem Emerson White's The Road Home.
The first half of the book involves her duties in Vietnam as a triage
nurse. The second half takes place on American soil as the stoic 22
year-old faces her alcoholism, the death of loved ones, and her darkest
secret. The last quarter of the book follows her on her journey to
confront the injured soldier that left her behind. No sensationalism or
