Tried to reply directly to "kaiau" but my merssage got bounced back, so here it is again: A personal favorite at our house (we had to buy a second copy when the original didn't last through two toddlerhoods) was P.D. Eastman's ARE YOU MY MOTHER? This is one I still like to give to other 2-year-olds as they happen along and we always get rave reviews ranging from "we have to read it *every* night" to "and Rebecca even *acts it out!*" It's also one of my favorite Mother's Day read-alouds and it's available in a bilingual version for little Southwesterners who need to grow up speaking Spanish as well as English.
