Hi Theresa, When I first took my library position in a 7-12 building, the remedial reading specialist had a designated area in the library with books set aside and coded on the spine with an orange dot for reluctant readers. Students did not want to even look at them even though their were many fine titles. The whole concept really had a stigma attached. Since that time the collection was reshelved and orange dots removed. I found that a bibliography of recommended titles for the reluctant reader works much better. It also requires the student to use the card catalog to locate the books rather than spoon feed them. Good luck, Bonnie Coppersmith Salamanca, NY Bonnie_Coppersmith@sccs.wnyric.org
