ELEM: "looping" teachers move up grade with class

My talk about LM_NET has impressed others so now a teacher in neighboring
school who is not online has asked me to post a question.  Principal wants
teachers to consider "looping" with their students, i.e. teacher has 3rd
grade this year but move to 4th with same students for next year, year after
that teacher returns to 3rd to begin process again with new group.  Does
anyone have experience with this program?  Can anyone give pros and/or cons
for this?  Please reply to me directly and I will forward answers to teacher.
