> Friends, the secretary now says that the poem is on the Bank of > Switzerland commercial on CNN . Are any of you familiar with any > poems used in those commercials? Could it be Frost's "The Road not > Taken?" If anyone knows, please contact me at gdraper@wps.k12.ar.us Since this seems to have worked itself into a public discussion, I'll answer to the group. If it is the one I heard this morning, it is not a poem but a quote from Shakespeare ... Julius Caesar, I think. You know, the one that says something like "there is a time in the life of tides and men ... that when ... taken at the flood ... etc." I don't remember exactly, but it is inferring that one must take the opportunity when it presents itself. Another that is advertising a car is one *I* like very much and I know I've studied it in some literature class. It's the one about fireworks exploding in the sky and everyone says ... "Ahhhh". The man is reading it while his wife drives. Which poem is that, please? How nice that advertisers are using the classics -- I *love* it! Betty .----.
