picture books with a theme or subject of interest to adults

My supervisor is interested in creating a bibliography of pictures books
with themes or subjects of interest to adults.

For example  Oh, the places you'll go  by Dr. Seuss

             or Hiroshima no pika, or The Bracelet.

Would you send me one or two of your favorites and I will post a hit.
