ELEM:Biographies-Women in sports

Hi LMNETTERS,

My county is sponsoring an essay contest for 5th and 6th graders to celebrate
Women's History Month.  This year's essay is "Women in Sports."  I went
through my pitful biography section and could not find one books on a woman
sports figure.  I am going to have to do some quick ordering.  Are there any
good biographies on this subject out there?  Which vendor would be the best
to use?  The essays are due in the middle of February.

Also-any suggestions on how to work with the classroom teachers on this?  I'd
appreciate any help.
