Group: I have recently been approached by several teachers who said that they heard that they or their students could no longer bring movies to show at school i.e. during inclement weather. They said that they had heard there it had something to do with copyright. I am unfamiliar with this and would like to know the following: 1. Is it illegal for students/teachers to bring videos to show under the above circumstances? 2. What about movies that the school has purchased from discount stores and added to their library collections? 3. What about movies that the school bought from a library video supplier? My teachers said that they had heard that there was some sort of permission for use that the school had to receive each year, and that the cost runs close to $500 per year! Any help you can give will be appreciated.
