GEN: HELP!

My small district needs to make large budget cuts for next
year in order to stay within state-mandated cost controls.  One of
several proposals is to not replace a retiring elementary Library
Media  Specialist and having the remaining two librarians take up
the slack.  Library classes would be cancelled.; book check-out and
day-to-day operations would need to be handled by aides; etc., etc.

        This proposal goes before the school board soon and will be
voted on by the end of February.  Please help me convince them of the
importance of a professionally (full-time) staffed library media
center.
