Several years ago I sent John Fitzgerald a fan letter and received a
wonderful
reply about how many of the stories really did happen when he was growing
up with his brother in Utah.  He was quite old when I wrote the letter and
I've often wondered whatever happened to him.  I am glad that I can share
his books with my son and daughter.
