The Territorial Librarian gave me an enormous book which lists all the
grant giving corporations, what they gave and to who each year. I  plowed
through four columns of library grants looking for the one applicable to
us. I sent out 37 letters of inquiry. (It's hard to type with crossed
fingers! :-))

As to the second part of your question, I highly recommend  subscribing
to the Grantsmanship Center magazine. It is free to non-profit
organizations and they will send to an individual. Address: P.O. Box 17220,
Los Angeles  CA  90017. They offer courses, workshops and a few
interesting looking booklet I ordered.
