Photocopy machine recommendations needed

        One of the schools I serve needs to replace their photocopy
machines.  Previous machines have been inadequate to meet the demands of
this PreS - 4 school whose student population is 620.  The average output
per year is over 500,000 copies.
        I would appreciate positive or negative recommendations and suggestions
for review sources.  Is it wise to purchase a maintenance agreement as
we have done in the past?  We are poor, can afford only one new machine, and
will need to use creative financing.
        Previously, we have based our selections on cost, special features,
and local recommendations.  This time, we're determined to spend enough to
acquire a low maintenance workhorse.  This drain on our resources is
diminishing our funds for other technology such as upgrading our
library Mac computers.
