Internet advertising

Something has started happening which really bothers me.  I have started
receiving advertising in the U.S. mail from people who see my address on
the Internet and assume that I want to purchase their product.  I get
enough advertising in the form of catalogs, brochures, and telephone calls
as it is without having to put up with yet more sales pitches.  Has anyone
else had this problem?

I am not the only one at my school who has experienced this.  One of our
4th grade teachers who has an Internet address also got internet-related
advertising today.
