comic strip artist info please

Netters,
   I have a sixth grade student who is trying to reseach comic strip
artist for a report on careers.  I have tried several thinks to find the
information that she needs but have been unsuccessful.  Any info you
might have would be greatly appreciated.
   She needs to know: schooling requirements
                      salary
                      job description
   I think she picked the hardest career to research.
