I just subscribed to CHILDLIT discussion list. Here's what worked for me.
Send a message to:
LISTSERV@RUTVM1.RUTGERS.EDU
Write nothing in the subject line.
In the message text write:
SUBSCRIBE CHILDLIT FIRSTNAME LASTNAME
Remember to take out your signature line(s) if you have them. Sometimes that
confuses things.
