U.S. Peace Corps Recruitment/ Boston, Massachusetts_ Jobs: Library Science - Africa Region Peace Corps is seeking to fill six (6) positions for Library Science professionals in the Africa Region. Positions are departing early fall 1995 (between 9/1 and 10/15/95). Prior to being assigned to a project the successful candidate will undergo a three month in country pre-service training, consisting of local language, cross culture, and additional skills training as required for the assignment. Duration of the assignment is two (2) years exclusive of the training period. Past placements and projects have included Volunteers helping to organize libraries in Botswanan school systems and training their counterparts in library management. Volunteers have trained Malawians through the Malawi Institute of Management in the creation of a reference library to support the development of local training resources. Qualifications for these positions require the following: MA/MS in Library Science, or BS in Library Science with one year's related work experience. U. S. Citizenship is an eligibility requirement for all Peace Corps assignments. Interested candidates are asked to call the nearest recruitment office for further information and an application.
