Just what we need: another personal comment to crowd everyone's mailbox! I, too, love Tom Clancy, and can't wait until each successive one arrives in paperback(hardbacks seem such a burden!). Even though I don't understand all the tech jargon, it sometimes makes more sense than the "nice war newspeak" we get on the evening news. To me, it's his characters that compel me to turn the page. His characters have PASSION for LIFE. Incidentally, if you love Ryan, you should pack a picnic lunch, take a good long preparatory trip to the bathroom, and go see "Braveheart". At three hours fifteen minutes, it's not too long. It is not a "chick's love story movie, it's not a "guy's action movie" - although there's plenty of both. It is a story of one man's passion a la Cecil B. DeMille. (Besides, you'll find out what scots wore under there kilts!) I know it's a movie, not a book, but you can't spend the entire summer by the pool! Happy Summer! (Ours doesn't start until July 14th.)
