TECH:sirs network and Cat Plus

Is there anyone running catalog plus or Unison on their Sirs Network or on
a network using CD-Roms.  Is there any reason why this could not be done?
I am planning purchases for our renovated Media Center and plan to use
Unison as our  Comp. Catalog and to run CD Roms  either on a tower or daisy
chained.  Any advice you could give or experience you have had would be
greatly appreciated.
