LM_NET: Library Media Networking
In our new media center, I designated an area just inside the main
entrance and dubbed it "FUTURES", the implication being obvious. I keep
all the career related materials in this area. There is a display rack
for pamphlets etc. and a table with chairs. Also, a dummy terminal is
here where students may access our on-line career service system, as
well as the Internet in the months to come. I have had this area in existence
now for 2 years and it is not used as much as I would like, but I attribute
that to the lack of aggressive promotion techniques on my part to encourage
students to use it. I hope to remedy this in the future (no pun intended:-D)
