ELEM: Periodicals for 5th-6th grade

Hi Everyone,

My sixth graders are asking for Seventeen, Bop (whatever that is) and Surfing
magazine.  Of course, Seventeen is out of the question.  I need some
recommendations for magazines for sixth grade girls (We get American Girl)
and sixth grade boys..  Is Surfing appropriate for this age level.  What
else, of general interest, can you recommend for this age level that will get
board approval.
