The review in the Austin American Statesman was equally scathing.  The
headline was "Hawthorne Adulterated."  He refers to the film as
"Hawthorne gone Harlequin."  Interesting that throughout was the theme
that most moviegoing adults are not literate enough to know the
difference --- who's insult is worse --- the critic's or the producer's???
