I too have been using the Dewey caveman idea but didn't mention it because it's been around so long, I assumed (and you know what that means!) that it was common knowledge by now. I first chanced upon the little guy in 1968 when I was doing my student teaching for elementary education. We had no certified person in the library and each teacher did their own library skills instruction. I think I "stole" the idea from Weekly Reader or some such publication. I use different graphics on my handouts now but mostly present the cave guy in skit form (no, I don't dress in skins!). =+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= Jan Moore Foster Elementary Library Media Specialist 1025 High Point janmoore@tenet.edu Arlington, TX 76015 FAX (817)468-8292 (817)465-4702 ==============================================================================
