In response to the expression "Indian style", when I first went into the library our first grade teacher told her students upon entering for storytime to sit on their "bumpers" :-). All classes know that means either with legs crossed or feet flat with knees up and arms clasped around them. They shift from either position but remain with "bumpers" on the floor. The expression offends no one. After the story they move quietly to tables until their turn to look for books. // // //// </////// Susan E.
