TARGET: 2d Temple (Jerusalem) Fiction

Hi LM_NETTERS.  Hope you can help with an obscure request.

The 6th grade Judaics teacher would like a novel set in the period of the 2d
Temple (515 BCE - 70 CE) for the class to read as a whole.  I've found THE
RIDER AND HIS HORSE by Erik Haugaard (1968) and THE TENTH OF AV by Kenneth
Roseman (1988) listed on a bibliography, but don't know whether they're still
in print.

Any suggestions of 6th grade level fiction that might fit the bill?
