The purpose of automation is to keep up with the 20 & almost 21st century
as far as technology. How many supermarkets today have old-fashioned cash
registers & punch in prices by hand? It's faster, more accurate, & more
economical to do things with technology. The end result should free up
the librarian(s) so that more of their time can be spent helping students
& teachers, & helping everyone learn all they can about the "Information
Highway."

This will NEVER be accomplished if you do not have more, not less, help &
consequently YOU end up doing "menial" tasks. More of your valuable time
being freed up will benefit everyone, IMHO anyway.
