IASL Jamaica conference, July 1996

The following details are for those needing information about the 1996 IASL
conference in Jamaica.  (International Association of Schoool Librarianship)
The Jamaica conference will be the main celebration of IASL's Silver Jubilee
and promises to be special.

Dates:  28 July to 2 August
Venue:  Jamaica Grande Hotel, Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Theme:  Sustaining the Vision: School Library Imperatives for the
21st Century
Sub-Themes:
1. The vision;
2. Expanding educational horizons;
3. Information literacy and cultural harmony;
4. Caribbean identity in literature.

Conference fees: [Before 30 April] IASL member $US 150, non-member $US 170,
Accompanying person $US 120, Banquest $US 35;
[After 30 April] IASL member $US 180, non-member $US 200.

Accommodation:  A range of accommodation at or near the Jamaica Grande
Hotel has been organised.  Details in registration pack.

Ocho Rios is a resort town about 90 minutes from Kingston.  The July/August
temperature varies from 27 to 32 C.
