Our sixth grade is about to start an interdisciplinary unit on countries
of the world. This is the second year for the unit, but last year the
science teachers didn't participate much. This year they want to
participate by doing activities on the weather in countries which the
kids will "visit." I have been visiting various weather sites
recommended on LM_NET, but so far haven't found exactly what I'm looking
for. I'm hoping someone can save me some time. Most forecast
information I've found is for the U.S. and Canada. I find things about
unusual weather, storms, etc. all over the world. I found a site where
people in various cities post their weather observations. However, many
of these were very out of date.

One of our products will be that the kids will make a travel itinerary.
It occurs to me that knowing about the climate in the countries they will
visit would be helpful. They might be able to make charts or graphs or
weather maps. Any other creative suggestions?

What would be good weather sites for 6th graders. We will have only
Lynx, so no graphics unless we can get a parent to help out at home. Our
old, slow modems make it hard to download much at school. Also, limited
access to internet workstations means kids will have to work in groups
and take turns.

Thanks for any help and/or suggestions you might give.
