At the end of the year I give out popsicles to any class that gets all
its books either returned or paid for if a book is lost. I usually get
several classes in each school (I'm in two K-5 schools.) The kids often
start to ask close to the end of the year whether or not I'm giving out
popsicles to 100% book return classes. Since I'm not able to charge
fines or enforce replacement fees for lost books, this has been one way
to encourage book return.
