Dear LM_NETTERS, The Supreme Court of the state of Wyoming has ordered the state legislature to completely revise the method for funding schools. The legislature must define quality education and make sure that it is provided for all students in the state. Through the Wyoming Library Association, we are devoloping a document to support fully funded, professionally staffed libraries in all schools K-12. We need some information in the following areas and hope some of you can help. 1. Have any other states mandated school libraries and/or set standards for school libraries? If so, how are they funded? 2. We need examples of outstanding school library programs. 3. We need resources that support the importance of school libraries. We are using the Colorado study, The Power of Reading by Krashen, and Information Power. We are also doing an ERIC search. We need other sources. Please send any information that you think will help to me. Jan
