The issue of memory has arisen during the Mac vs IBM discussion. I recently purchased a Mac 7200 and discovered to my delight that there currently is a glut of memory on the market and prices are *low*. I added a 16MB DIMM for $200, and since then I have seen them advertised for under $150. If you wish to upgrade memory, now seems to be the time, but get reliable, tested, guaranteed memory from a company such as Newer. Look at the ads in the back of MacWorld and MacUser, or MacWeek for good prices and assorted companies. If you belong to a Mac user group, the User Group Connection also offers good deals. Don't let memory prices dictate which platform you choose. Consider your needs, available resources and support, and maintenance. Ultimately, choose what you will be most comfortable with.
