Many small towns and cities have Historical Societies.  Ours had opened a
Town Museum.  They were delighted to receive our card catalog.  Half they
used for cataloging.  The other half was used to store small precious items.

You might also find that the art teachers will fight for it.  It's great
for storing brushes, pencils, etc.

American Libraries magazine did a whole series on this topic several
years ago.  Good uses for dead catalogs.
