To the many people who have requested a copy of the syllabus of the Internet class that I taught (all 20+ people!): I was overwhelmed by the requests for my syllabus. It really points out to me the hunger that is out there for staff development materials on teaching the Internet (practical stuff!). My school has just been hooked up this summer with a direct Internet connect on our LAN and I am now faced with inservicing staff, so that they in turn can work with students on the Net. It seems like a monumental task to me, especially since it needs to be accomplished pretty quickly. Sounds like a good discussion for this group. How do we accomplish effective staff development on Internet use within our buildings? (Forgive me if this has already been addressed before I logged back on for the summer). My partner, Marge Shaffer (Easton H.S., Talbot County, MD) will be meeting this week to revise the syllabus now that we have actually used it. We will then publish the syllabus (actually syllabi - five days worth) on LM_Net for anyone who would like a copy. If anyone would like to contact either me or Marge (mshaffer@umd5.umd.edu) with specific questions, please feel free.
