GEN: Certification Question

I am thinking about making a career change from law librarian to
elementary/middle school librarian.  I am under the impression that most
states require a teaching certificate or degree to work in a school
library.  Is this correct?? Do you know of any states which do NOT
require a teaching certificate or degree??
