[LMNetters have always been very helpful to NASA Spacelink's staff and our educators as our system has grown. We have tried to return the favor by responding to greeting requests and other appeals for help. Now, I need to solicit some assistance. Our explosive growth means we need to increase our staff. TIA /Alan/] -start- This job posting describes a position with Computer Sciences Corporation's Applied Technology Division PrISMS contract with NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center located in Huntsville, Alabama. There is NO employer-paid relocation for this position. The employee filling this position will serve as a member of the team that manages NASA Spacelink, NASA's premier electronic information distribution system for educators. ----------- Job Requirements for NASA Spacelink Content Coordinator (MTSA) Duties and Responsibilities - Administer overall content structure of the Spacelink Public Electronic Library (SPEL) - Proactively seek new materials to strengthen effectiveness of the SPEL - Edit and catalog electronic documents within the SPEL - Oversee continuous review and updating of SPEL content - Coordinate special projects with NASA and NASA-related organizations - Serve as subject-matter expert on NASA's educational programs and services - Prepare and deliver oral presentations and training seminars to both customers and NASA personnel - Prepare and deliver professional papers and interface with media as required - Staff NASA Spacelink exhibits at national conferences and meetings as required - Act as Spacelink's liaison to NASA education offices and national education groups - Identify, evaluate and validate licensing of software "shareware" products useful to educators - Maintain electronic presentation materials for Spacelink training and overview briefings - Assist in providing end-user technical support of NASA Spacelink's customers Critical Knowledge - Required: effective organization and mastery of the English language in written and oral forms - Required: successful classroom teaching experience preferably in science, mathematics or technology disciplines - Required: familiarity with use of computers in educational settings - Required: familiarity with computer-based word processing - Desired: familiarity with concepts of electronic document publishing and distribution - Desired: experience with personal computers modems and communications software - Desired: familiarity with Internet client tools (i.e. World Wide Web browsers, Telnet, electronic mail, FTP, and Gopher) - Desired: knowledge of current national education trends and curriculum standards Critical Skills - Proven experience in designing or adapting curriculum materials for classroom use - Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience Educational/Professional Affiliations - BS/BA Degree in any Education specialty - 4+ years directly applicable work experience Organizational Considerations for a Good Job Fit - Ability to function as a contributing member of a civil-service / contractor collaborative work team responsible for delivering NASA information to the education community - Positive motivation to proactively assist customers Interested principals should submit cover letter (including reference to Requisition Number 96-093) and resume to: Kathy Hill/Lana Cowan Computer Sciences Corporation P.O.
