Recently I made the off-hand suggestion that the library should be called
the Information Center.  My principal liked the idea so well that he
wants a big sign place over the door with "Information Center" and since
we are so into acronyms it's to be called the I.C.  Since the Counselors
Career Center is moving to the library next year and the control room for
the school LAN is housed in the "library" and the fact that "we" actually
started the technology move in the school, Information Center does seem
appropriate.  As one of the former principals (of 20 years) said " the
library  is still the library".  He meant that in a good way-- seriously.
The librarian's title in our district is LMC Director so now I guess we
will become the Information Manager or Director or Specialist or
Coordinator or something, the kids will still say Miss Librarian or
Library Lady.
