This is my first request - I hope I put the correct heading on this message.

FIRST - some background - we recently had some racial problems here at
our high school, while many feel it has been blown out of proportion the
school community is trying to react to the situation. The community is a
consolidation of rural schools in SE Ohio and the only ethnic groups are
WASP's, a German Catholic group (rather large), and about 1/2% black.

SECOND - My superintendent sent me the following request (Please excuse
his caps lock):

....WE NEED A LISTING OF ALL LIBRARY
BOOKS THAT ONE COULD PRECIEVE TO DEAL WITH ETHNIC COMPOSITION...THIS WOULD
BE NICE TO HAVE BROKEN DOWN AS TO WHERE THE BOOK IS LOCATED AND WITH ETHNIC
GROUP IT WOULD PERTAIN TO...THIS LISTING ALSO NEEDS TO BE IN A MANNER
THAT THE DISTICT LIBRARY AIDES AND ANYONE ELSE WOULD VIEW AND FIND IT TO BE
SELF EXPLANATORY...THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR COOPERATION!!

FINALLY - I am seeking a list of elementary titles that especially deal
with "getting along with others" -- Our subject headings lead me to
titles about the Civil Rights Movement etc. but I would like to find more
in our collections and also provide a "recommended reading list" where
items might not be in our libraries now.

Thanks,
