 This may not be the solution to all your internet searching
 concerns, but it *is* a slightly different concept and I think
 you'll find that it's worth exploring.

 Magellan is a keyword-searchable database of reviewed internet
 sites. You can customize your request to retrieve only those
 locations that were found to have no "adult" content at the time
 of review and each site is rated (from one star to four stars).

 From any location in CLN's Lynx menus, simply type "g"
 (without the quotations) for "go" then type in (or copy
 and paste) the following URL:

                           http://www.mckinley.com/

 The easiest way to use this tool in Lynx is to enter your
 keyword(s) on the blank line, move down to the "Search Magellan"
 option and then press return. When the search is completed,
 you can use your space bar to take you to the results and
 then link directly to your sites of interest. More complex
 searches are possible if you're willing to play around a bit
 with the options, but the basic search is quite effective and
 may be all that you need.

 In Lynx you won't see the graphic that indicates  "no adult
 content", but the word [LINK] appears beside the star rating
 in place of the "green light" image and is your sign that the
 site has been screened for inappropriate content. Knowing that
 somebody somewhere has been watching over these sites may help
 ease a few of your anxieties when you make recommendations to
 students or when you are giving internet demos to parents --
 just the same, you should select the word [LINK] (or click on
 the green light if you're using a graphical browser) and read
 Magellan's disclaimer to fully understand their rating system.
