We are in the process of writing new graduation requirements that will effect the incoming 9th grade class next year. We would like to include an attendance policy with this requirement but are getting a great deal of resistance from our central administration - our building administration is definitely in favor of this. My question is - do any of you now currently have an attendance policy as part of your graduation policy for your students? Part of our problem is that we have 2 high schools and the other high school is against this being included. But we are supposedly working with site based management and do not need to have the exact policy (when it suits central administration). All suggestions would be welcome.
