According to my trusty home copy of Palmer & Fowler,
Fieldbook of Natural History  (McGraw-Hill), on p. 478,   the
woolybear common to the northern U.S.  is the caterpillar stage of the
Isabella Tiger Moth (Order Lepidoptera/Family Arctiidae.
