We've been telling you that Texas, California, Colorado and Florida have incredibly high numbers of books read for our Count on Reading initiative. Such wonderful numbers! But, there are some other marvelous statistics. Comparing the 1990 populations of states and the numbers of books read for Count on Reading the following facts emerge: EVERY single person in the Virgin Islands has read at least 2 1/2 books during the initiative. EVERY single person in Colorado and New Hampshire has read at least one book during the initiative! EVERY single person in Kansas has read at least 1/2 book. EVERY single person in Connecticut, North Dakota, Oklahoma and South Carolina has read at least 1/3 of a book. EVERY single person in Texas has read at least 1/4 of a book. EVERY single person in Alaska and Indiana has read at least 1/5 of a book since the initiative began. These are very inspiring numbers! Let's keep up the good work and try to meet the one billion mark by April 2, 1997!
