My goodness, yes, the library should not be closed for a book fair! I
never heard of such a thing. We, too, have volunteers who come in and
"man" the bookfair while we carry on business as usual.  A lot of
teachers like to bring their classes in to look at the book fair and it
does get kind of crazy, but it's sort of fun, too.
