                 Associate/Full Professor

Applications are invited for a tenure/tenure-track faculty position
at the rank of associate or full professor.  The graduate Library
and Information Science Program at Wayne State University is
seeking candidates who are innovative teachers and researchers
with a proven record of scholarly and professional
accomplishments.  A successful record of securing grants is
preferred.  Wayne State University is situated in the attractive
cultural center of Detroit and has a beautiful campus in a park-
like setting.

Candidates should be able to teach one or more courses in the
core curriculum, plus courses in the area of school library/media
services, youth services, young adult services and urban
librarianship.  We seek a dynamic individual to educate the next
generation of information professionals with an emphasis upon
people/problem solving skills and service in an urban
environment.  The ideal candidate will take a leadership role in K-
12 education in Michigan.

Minimum salary: $46,000 (negotiable), plus benefits.

Qualifications: Earned doctorate and an ALA-accredited MLS or
equivalent degree and appropriate professional experience.  The
ideal candidate will have proven teaching skills at the graduate
level and have the ability to perform as an instructor and adviser
to graduate students.
