TECH>Internet (Winsock software)

Dear Netters,
        I have this problem--you see I have an internet account at a local
college (I don't have local access).  For some reason last spring, I lost
the trumpet winsock software to access my account.  This also includes
Netscape.  The person who I got the software from and the account is no
longer with the college.  It came on 2 disks.  My question is "isn't Winsock
a 'shareware' software?"  I can't seem to find it anyplace-computer store
etc.  Can anyone tell me how I can obtain this software pkg (Pegasus, WS
FTP, Telnet, etc)?  I am desperate--I have AOL but it is too slow.  Much
appreaciate your help.
